Habitual Traffic Offender
Hearings
WARNING:
A person can be habitualized and lose their license for five
years if they are adjudicated guilty of three civil
infractions for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked
Without Knowledge within a five year period.
If
you get a citation for Driving While License Suspended or
Revoked without knowledge do not pay the fine, set the case
for a hearing or elect to take a driving improvement class
so adjudication can be withheld.
If
for some reason you learn that you are an habitual traffic
offender and five years have already passed or a year has
passed since the time you should have been habitualized then
do the following so you can get your license back or at
least get a hardship license:

Call

(DHSMV, Tallahassee)
- Have them back date the date of your habitual
Traffic Offender status
- Have them back date Insurance

Get a thirty day traffic
search at Clerk’s office

Enroll in Advanced Driving
Improvement Class

Go to your nearest Bureau of
Driving Improvement (BDI) office and set a hearing to
get your license back or at least to try to get a
hardship license
